Copywriter (Part-Time)

The Job

The Copywriter is an essential part of our creative team, supporting and reporting to our Lead Copywriter with writing, reviewing, and implementing a variety of copy and content deliverables across platforms. Working closely with the Senior Project Manager and in coordination with the design, development, and strategy teams, the Copywriter crafts campaign concepts; writes engaging copy that reflects the appropriate client brand voice; and proofreads and copyedits marketing reports, agency materials, and other deliverables. The Copywriter is responsible for aligning copy with SEO and social media best practices.

This is a part-time, salaried position for 15 hours per week during business hours, with the potential to increase down the road. A schedule will be determined during the hiring process. On-boarding will take place in our Braintree, MA, office during the first few weeks of the start date. Due to COVID-19, all 5 Horizons employees have the option of working remotely or on-site in our Braintree, MA, office with the expectation of eventually working in our office at least a few days a week.

Essential Functions

  • Write engaging copy that reflects appropriate client brand voice and drives prospect engagement
  • Deliver effective copy for a variety of placements, such as websites, microsites, landing pages, emails, LinkedIn message ads, Facebook newsfeed ads, Google search, blog posts, and audio scripts, to drive prospect engagement
  • Craft creative campaign concepts that work across platforms
  • Manage multiple projects with critical deadlines
  • Proofread completed work
  • Coordinate with strategy, design, and data teams

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)

  • Ability to write and communicate effectively in English
  • Strong working knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Ability to think strategically, work independently, manage multiple projects and tight deadlines, and deliver high quality work on time
  • Flexibility to appropriately represent unique brand voices for a variety of clients within a given industry
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback and implement client directives
  • Confidence to coordinate with other writers 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or military service preferred, particularly in communications, advertising, marketing, English, or other related field
  • Minimum 2-5 years of writing/content development experience
  • Experience writing copy across digital channels
